So it seems everyone in the states ask me every time i talk to them, about the weather... "What's the temperature down there?" I'm gonna once and for all answer this one... It's 26 Celsius/78 Fahrenheit! It's ALWAYS 26 Celsius/78 Fahrenheit... It's not worth the question anymore... Yes, I get to go to the beach every weekend, but you know what? I don't always want to... This weekend I went to another place farther inland and there was no sand on the floor and it was GLORIOUS! I'm sorry if that upsets some of you folks, but too much of a good thing gets really boring sometimes... I'm now on a mission to spread out my time on sand
Tests
Had 3 out of 4 of the initial exams in each class and I'm doing great... Haven't bought my ticket home or sold any of my stuff here (meaning I'm not leaving the island yet) The class is doing well and I'm starting to see some personalities from them, though some I wish I hadn't (shuddering)... Life is going on here and I'm happy, though missing fam and friends from home... Therefore, you should come visit! Take a week off of whatever it is that you do, and visit my rock!
Bro, can't wait to get my first visitor!

Big Day
Big day for folks on this Earth... Inauguration Day! Obama's in and wanting to make change... I'm listening to the speech right now and I'm satisfied with it... He's a big fan of unifying people, but he definitely threatened our "enemies" whoever that will be... So he sounds like he's willing to flex some muscle which is one thing I was afraid of... Let's see if he follows through
But you all know about this and probably were able to watch it live (I had class and the teacher sympathized, but still wanted to hear himself lecture... Oh, Reich) so let's move onto what you don't know... School is back in session and I am surviving 1st semester so far... First test on Monday so cross our fingers... It's the one class I'm nervous about right now, Histology... Just not sure about this guy and this test
Met the newbies to my class, well not all of them... There are about 100 I've still left to meet, but they seem pretty cool... Play the wait and see game with them
I've been getting a little more involved with CCF (Christian Caribbean Fellowship, my Church down here) and am leading a Discussion entitled SARS (Science And Religion Study)... It's pretty exciting, yet nerve-racking... Trying to be prepared for it while also realizing that it's a discussion so there is no right answer and not to worry if I don't have responses for everything... It's fun, but I think this week there will be a few more people (last week was 3) and so praying it goes as well
My CAR!!! Love it! It's so me... 4 wheel-drive, manual, red, Suzuki Samurai... Windows don't work well, holes in the floor, a choke that I have to play with til she warms up, only a canvas on the roof and no sides to it... Absolutely new highlight for the semester... I roll start her all the time when she dies (b/c the choke is too far in)... A wooden makeshift bench in the back b/c there is no backseat... Did I mention 4 Wheel Drive! Ahh... I'm in love... Sorry Oldie Goldie (my old gold Toyota Camry), I've moved on... Dude, I can't even tell what year she is (I was told '97)... Haha... She's getting new seats on Thursday and I don't know what kind b/c I didn't pay for them... The previous owner did... Excitement!
I'm gonna get on here more, just had to get myself settled and organized for the semester... Be back soon

Chicago
Well, I've done a lot so far... It's a couple days after Christmas and I've hit my peak and on my way down... Anyone else notice the after Christmas, there is a decline in cool things to do... I've been to St. Louis, drank at the brewery, pet a wombat, watch my sis celebrate her 21st with style, and ate myself to another belt loop... And now that the day of all holidays has ended, things start to sloooooowwww down... There's less to do, not much to look forward to... New Years is a little less fun when most of your friends are couples and they get the power for decision making... You end up w/ your best friends clinking glasses and saying some lame new year announcement while all the tag team couples are making out and deciding who's house to crash w/out parents home... Awesome!
I mean i love those two guys but celebrating new years unattached is not much to look forward to after the giant buildup that is Dec 25... Ugh, I'll get through and hopefully w/ some good stories at least... Laters

Last Round
Tomorrow is the last round of tests and as long as I don't bomb any of them, Full-Blown veterinary student here I come!!! Also, tomorrow is my flight home almost immediately following the exams so my little laptop has weather web pages up, praying for good weather for all three flights. But hopefully there is still snow on the ground when I reach Chicago because that's what's been killing me on this whole Christmas in the Caribbean thing. No SNOW!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Check this out, while I've been gone, Illinois has:
-Got a Senator into the white house
-Not produced any baseball trophies (grr... Cubbies)
-Sit-ins at window and glass companies
-Tribune has filed for bankruptcy
-Had a governor brought up on conspiracy charges
What? Was I holding that place together?

One more set...
So I've finished my 4th round of tests and have only one more on the 10th of December (yes, the day i come home). They went decent, but I have to be completely honest, it's uber hard to study when there is little to study from. More detailed questions from less material I think is much harder than less detailed questions from more material. Well anywho, in anatomy, we're not far from finishing the dog anatomy which if you scroll down a little, you can get a comical picture of what I've studied. I mean if you can't get a laugh out of a balloon dog skeleton, then what can you get a laugh out of?
So just over two weeks til i return to Chicago... my list of things to do:
Zoo (St. Louis, Lincoln Park, Brookfield)
Chicago style hot dog (probably at Vienna Beef factory)
Nice hamburger (Ruby Tuesday, just for good times)
Driving
Thorbjorg!!!
Sis 21st
Doing nothing for a day (probably multiple times)
Bears and chips/salsa
Good beer!
American money
and much, much more...
